NCTAF Consortium to Create Online Learning Communities for New Teachers in Rural and Urban School Districts

March 11, 2004 - To give new teachers a strong start and to accelerate their progress toward accomplished teaching, a new consortium will help schools to create strong professional communities where quality teaching and learning can thrive. The consortium, led by the National Commission on Teaching and America's Future (NCTAF), will establish online learning communities in three school districts to improve teacher retention, accelerate teaching proficiency, and improve student performance.
